A Guide to Using Keywords in Your Listings

3 min read

To keep the PeerLoot marketplace clean, fair, and easy to navigate, we have clear guidelines on how to use keywords in your listing titles and descriptions. The goal is to help traders find exactly what they’re looking for without a lot of clutter.

Following these rules helps you connect with the right traders more effectively.

What is Keyword Abuse? #

Keyword abuse includes any tactic used to get extra attention or appear in unrelated searches. These practices harm the quality of our marketplace and are not allowed.

Here’s what to avoid:

1. Using Special Characters or Formatting Tricks
Do not use symbols, excessive capitalization, or other decorative characters just to make your listing “stand out.” This only makes the marketplace look messy and untrustworthy.

  • Examples of what NOT to do:
    • $$$ CHEAPEST GOLD HERE $$$
    • W-O-W GOLD FAST
    • [INSTANT] Account Delivery!

2. Intentionally Misspelling Keywords
Do not replace letters with numbers or intentionally misspell words to try and capture more search results. Buyers don’t search this way, and it makes your listing look unprofessional.

  • Examples of what NOT to do:
    • g0ld for sale
    • run3scape acc0unt
    • Valarante points

3. Using Irrelevant or Misleading Keywords
Do not include game names or terms that don’t match the product you are actually trading. This wastes other users’ time and erodes trust in the platform.

  • Example of what NOT to do:
    • Listing a World of Warcraft account but adding tags like “Lost Ark” or “RuneScape” to the description.

4. Repeating Keywords Unnaturally (Keyword Stuffing)
Do not overload your title or description with the same word over and over again. It makes your listing hard to read and offers no benefit.

  • Example of what NOT to do:
    • “WoW gold cheap gold fast gold instant gold best price gold.”
  • The Rule: You can use a keyword a maximum of two times—for instance, once in the title and once in the description.

What Does a Good Listing Look Like? #

The best listings are simple, clear, and written for a human, not a search engine.

  • Clear, correctly spelled title.
  • No gimmicks or excessive symbols.
  • A helpful description with only relevant information.

Title: Level 60 Warrior AccountTitle: _LVL 60 WARRRIOR ACC CHEAP_
Description: Selling my Level 60 Warrior. It has full epic gear and 1,000 gold. Ready for instant delivery.Description: lvl 60 account cheap warrior wow acc warr acc instant delivery fast cheap account 1k gold gold gold.

Will Keyword Tricks Help My Listing? #

No. In fact, they will hurt it. Listings that abuse keywords are more likely to be removed by our moderation team, and your account may face restrictions. The best way to get visibility is to have a clear, honest listing and a good reputation.

What Happens if I Don’t Follow These Rules? #

To protect the experience for all users, listings with keyword abuse may be:

  • Removed from the marketplace.
  • Subject to an official warning or a temporary account suspension.
  • In cases of repeated abuse, your account may be permanently banned.

If you are unsure whether your listing meets these guidelines, please contact our support team. We are happy to help.
